|MISC expands reach to Chennai and Yangon

Continuing its expansion and growth as Asia's premier carrier, MISC Berhad (MISC) is pleased to announce the commencement of its new East India Service (EIS) with first sailing from Yangon, Myanmar on 22 March 2010. Through EIS, MISC is offering a dedicated weekly service between East India and Myanmar; the service will offer routing from Yangon, Chennai, Colombo, Chennai and back to Yangon.
With just a 3‐day transit time between Yangon and Chennai, EIS has one of the most competitive transits in the market. This unique offering will provide customers with a fast and efficient new service to assist in their trade growth. The new service will also allow customer in the region to access MISC's premium Halal Express Services (HES) at Colombo and reach the Middle East and Far East markets.
This weekly service will be served by two of MISCís 700 TEU capacity vessels, Bunga Mas 11 and Bunga Mas 12, with a minimum of 60 reefer plugs. The injection of MISCís own vessel, supported by experienced personnel and an extensive agency it network, will ensure its customers of service quality, commitment and reliabily.
The launching of EIS also sees MISC further intensify its commitment to its customers in India as the company now adds Chennai to the list of India ports currently called by MISCís vessels, ie: Nhava Sheva and Pipavav.
